Spectra of the reference compounds were collected at beamline 4-3 at SSRL according to the methods described above for S XAS measurements. Our set of model compounds includes sodium sulfate, glutathione, L-cysteine and elemental sulfur that were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (Switzerland). In addition to these end-stations, SSRL has two high-flux wiggler side stations for XAS, which are fed by a 22-pole 2-Tesla insertion device.
